Change … sometime means losing something good. It can also mean that there maybe something better waiting for you at the other end of it. Seasons are like that. For me it is winter. My favorite season! I love the cold weather. If I had it my way… it will just be winters all year round. But that is not it should work and thank god! that is not how it works.
Winter makes way for spring…and that in turn helps us , not particularly embrace, but surely prepare for the summer. But here in Bangalore, the weather gods decided to skip spring and go right into the hot days!
” Come to the orchard in spring,
There is light and wine…
..and sweethearts in the pomegranate flowers,
If you do not come , these do not matter…
If you do come, these do not matter…”
– Rumi ( Persian poet)
The Persian love affair with pomegranate dates back to possibly the beginning of the mankind…They say this ‘fruit of paradise’, for its association with the Goddess of Love Aphrodite, is the original ‘Forbidden Fruit’ ….and not apples!
Probably one of the very first fruits ever to be cultivated, this pomegranate has different significance in different cultures. Right from being the fruit of fertility, to immortality …to new beginnings… new life…besides just being the original ‘Passion Fruit’ aphrodisiac!
Making a coming back after almost a month ( again! )
The last time that happened, I bounced back with something sweet , but this time around it is fish! Special – because all this while the recipes in my blog have been vegetarian. I love fish ( and this should be a great beginning for my blog.)
There is something amazing about fruits that need to be peeled to be eaten. The way I look at it is that there is always something incredible waiting to be discovered! We all have our favorites , for me the most ‘apeeling’ fruit has always been Bananas. It has never ever ever disappointed me with its delicious awesomeness.
Chocolate covered Strawberries with white chocolate drizzle … My lovely little soldiers in formation, are you ready for some love!!?
